A Veterinary Theriogenologist is a licensed DVM / VMD who has completed advanced, AVMA-accredited residency training in theriogenology, the specialty focused on animal reproduction. They specialise in the diagnosis, management, and treatment of reproductive disorders in male and female animals.

They provide services such as fertility evaluations, pregnancy management, assisted reproductive techniques, semen collection and evaluation, artificial insemination, breeding soundness exams, and management of reproductive diseases. Veterinary Theriogenologists work with companion animals, livestock, and performance animals depending on their practice focus. In the USA, they must hold state licensure and typically achieve board certification through the American College of Theriogenologists (ACT).
