Introduction
A progressive 24/7 emergency veterinary clinic in Westminster, Colorado is seeking a dedicated Medical Director to lead its experienced and collaborative team. This well-established hospital is known for exceptional patient care, long-tenured staff, and a supportive workplace culture. Working Hours / Rota
Full-time doctors typically work 11 to 13 shifts per month on a set rotation, with at least two weekends off and a five to seven day break every four weeks. Shifts include an equitable mix of day, night, and holiday coverage to ensure excellent patient care while maintaining a healthy work-life balance.
Role Description and Responsibilities
The Medical Director will provide medical leadership and mentorship to the veterinary and technical teams while maintaining a clinical caseload to stay connected to emergency medicine. Responsibilities include overseeing medical quality and performance, guiding continuing education and protocols, and collaborating with hospital leadership to uphold the highest standards of patient care and workplace culture.
Practice Details
This state-of-the-art emergency facility is fully equipped with advanced veterinary diagnostic tools that allow for quick and accurate results. Services include digital radiography, ultrasound, endoscopy, ECG, a full in-house laboratory, and urinalysis. The clinic’s comprehensive approach ensures that pets receive timely, evidence-based treatment while providing doctors with the resources they need to practice at the highest level.
Team
The current team includes six emergency veterinarians, three of whom have been with the hospital for over a decade, supported by a loyal and highly skilled group of technicians and support staff. The culture is collaborative, with a strong emphasis on mentorship and professional growth for both experienced and newer emergency veterinarians.
