Job Description

Introduction
Our client is a 24-hour specialty and emergency referral hospital in Tucson, Arizona, seeking to hire a veterinary surgeon (DACVS). The hospital is looking for a board-certified or residency-trained surgeon to join its collaborative team of dedicated veterinary professionals.

Working Hours / Rota
The hospital is open 24 hours, seven days a week. The ideal schedule for this full-time position would be four weekdays with rotating Saturdays, with specific doctor hours open to discussion.

Role Description and Responsibilities
The veterinary surgeon will join a high-quality medical team in providing surgical services within the hospital and must be board-certified or residency-trained. The surgeon will help lead the medical team, foster teamwork, and ensure efficient hospital operations while working closely with the hospital’s management team.

Practice Details
The hospital is equipped with video-endoscopy, mobile and stationary color-flow Doppler ultrasounds, a large central ICU with oxygen cage, Pulmonetics ventilator, telemetry, portable ultrasound unit, in-house lab, spiral CT scanner, a brand new 1.5 tesla Hallmarq PetVet MRI, digital radiography, Iodine 131, Force Triad/LigaSure with numerous hand pieces, a full complement of stapling equipment, Stryker arthroscopy/laparoscopy tower, CO2 laser, operating microscope, and neurosurgical equipment. The facility includes separate specialty and emergency entrances and lobbies, 16 exam rooms, 96 kennels, four surgical suites, and one dental suite.

Team
The team consists of eight emergency doctors and three specialist doctors, fostering a collaborative environment focused on high-quality patient care.

Candidate Requirements 

• Must hold the relevant degree(s) and additional qualifications to work as a veterinarian in the United States of America (USA)
• Must hold, be in the process of, or be able to obtain, a state license for the state they are applying to work in
• Must have the right to work in the United States of America (USA), or be able to obtain the required visa to do so
