Introduction
Our client is a hospital providing veterinary care for dogs, cats, and exotic pets in Swansea, Massachusetts, and is seeking an experienced Veterinary Surgeon to join the team. The practice is open to both full-time and part-time applicants and offers a collaborative clinical environment focused on high-quality medicine, outstanding patient care, and continued hospital growth.
Role Description and Responsibilities
The Veterinary Surgeon will maintain an active clinical role, with surgical care forming part of a wider service that includes emergency surgery, urgent care, treatment and hospitalization, diagnostics, and primary care. The position also offers the opportunity to contribute to medical leadership by promoting excellence in patient care, client communication, and medical standards, supporting quality improvement and the advancement of medical protocols, and collaborating with hospital leadership on operational and strategic initiatives. This position is specifically for an experienced Veterinary Surgeon.
Practice Details
The hospital has provided veterinary care to communities across southeastern Massachusetts and Rhode Island since 2005 and offers emergency, urgent, primary, and specialty veterinary services. Services include emergency surgery, testing and diagnostics, treatment and hospitalization, ultrasound, X-rays, echocardiograms, wellness care and vaccinations, dentistry, exotic pet care, spay and neuter procedures, and end-of-life care. A specialized triage system allows patients to be evaluated upon arrival. The hospital is open from 8:00 AM to 10:00 PM, seven days a week, 365 days a year.

The hospital has five DVMs and a great tenured support team, including experienced veterinary technicians. The environment is collaborative and focused on medical excellence, mentorship, positive team culture, professional growth, and providing veterinarians with the support needed to practice high-quality medicine.
Candidate Requirements
- Must hold the relevant degree(s) and additional qualifications to work as a veterinarian in the United States of America (USA)
- Must hold, be in the process of, or be able to obtain, a state license for the state they are applying to work in
- Must have the right to work in the United States of America (USA), or be able to obtain the required visa to do so
