Job Description

Introduction
Our client is a hospital providing high-level referral and emergency services for cats and dogs and is hiring a full-time Veterinary Surgeon to join their growing team as a second full-time surgeon. Since 2007, they have been a pillar of the South Texas veterinary community, delivering advanced specialty and emergency care.

Role Description and Responsibilities
The Veterinary Surgeon will manage a full scope of specialty surgical cases within a collaborative specialty environment. The position is suited to a residency trained or board certified veterinary surgeon. Doctor hours are open to discussion, with the option for a 3-day per week schedule.

Practice Details
The hospital operates within a 19,000-square-foot facility offering ER and specialty services. The practice features five fully equipped operating rooms, including a dedicated orthopedic operating room and induction room. Advanced imaging capabilities include an on-site 128-slice Siemens Cannon CT and 1.5T Phillips MRI. The hospital is also equipped with a Genoray ZEN7000 C-arm with electric rotating table and fluoroscopic suite for interventional radiology procedures. Surgical instrumentation includes standard soft tissue and orthopedic equipment, 3 Movora V-MBQ-70 drives, 2 Medtronic LigaSures, a T-1470 Touch Lite diode laser, MicroAire micro sagittal saw, 3 Surgairtomes, IMEXX linear and circular external fixator systems, VOI and standard plating systems, and TPLO/CBLO equipment. Minimally invasive capabilities include an Arthex surgical tower with laparoscopic, arthroscopic, and cystoscopic functionality, alongside a Storz endoscopy tower supporting respiratory, urinary, and gastrointestinal procedures.

Team
The surgeon will join a huge team of DVMs across multiple departments and will be supported by a highly skilled team of anesthesia-focused surgery technicians as well as a dedicated central sterile supply team.

Candidate Requirements 

• Must hold the relevant degree(s) and additional qualifications to work as a veterinarian in the United States of America (USA)
• Must hold, be in the process of, or be able to obtain, a state license for the state they are applying to work in
• Must have the right to work in the United States of America (USA), or be able to obtain the required visa to do so
