A leading 24/7 specialty and emergency hospital in Salt Lake City, Utah is seeking a board-certified or residency-trained Veterinary Surgeon with a focus on soft tissue surgery to join its growing surgical team. With a thriving existing surgery service and a multidisciplinary environment of approximately 30 veterinarians including specialists and emergency clinicians, this is an opportunity to practice at the highest level within a collaborative, referral-driven setting. The hospital is designed to support advanced medicine while fostering strong relationships with clients and referring partners across the region.

Working Hours / Rota
This is a full-time position within a 24-hour specialty and emergency hospital. Scheduling is structured in collaboration with the surgical team to ensure consistent specialty coverage while supporting sustainability and balance within a high-level referral environment.

Role Description and Responsibilities
The Veterinary Surgeon will focus primarily on soft tissue procedures while collaborating closely with specialty departments including Medical Oncology, Internal Medicine, Critical Care, and Emergency Medicine. Responsibilities include performing advanced soft tissue surgeries, participating in multidisciplinary case discussions, consulting with referring veterinarians, and maintaining thorough medical documentation. The role requires strong communication skills, a team-oriented mindset, and a commitment to delivering exceptional patient care. Active participation in developing referral relationships and contributing to the continued growth of the surgical service is expected. Candidates must be board-certified or residency-trained and eligible for licensure in Utah.

Practice Details
The hospital operates from a modern 24,000-square-foot facility opened in 2020 and is equipped to support advanced specialty and emergency care. Specialty services include Cardiology, Critical Care, Emergency Medicine, Internal Medicine, Medical Oncology, Neurology and Neurosurgery, Ophthalmology, Radiation Oncology, Radiology, Surgery, and Urgent Care. The collaborative infrastructure allows seamless case management across departments, ensuring patients receive comprehensive, coordinated care. Advanced imaging and surgical capabilities support complex procedures and high-acuity cases within a fully integrated referral center.

Team
You will join a team of approximately 30 veterinarians, including board-certified specialists and experienced emergency clinicians, supported by highly trained technicians and client service professionals. Surgeons work closely with oncology and other specialty services to provide integrated treatment plans, creating an environment where interdisciplinary communication is central to patient outcomes. Candidate Requirements 

• Must hold the relevant degree(s) and additional qualifications to work as a veterinarian in the United States of America (USA)
• Must hold, be in the process of, or be able to obtain, a state license for the state they are applying to work in
• Must have the right to work in the United States of America (USA), or be able to obtain the required visa to do so
