Job Description

Introduction
Our client is a hospital hiring a Veterinary Surgeon to join a specialty and emergency referral practice providing care to dogs and cats. The hospital is seeking an experienced veterinarian with a strong surgical background to deliver high-quality care within a collaborative, multi-disciplinary environment. The position offers flexibility with both full-time and part-time options available.

Role Description and Responsibilities
The role focuses on advanced surgical procedures alongside comprehensive patient care, including conducting medical work-ups, performing surgery, and managing cases from intake through to discharge. Responsibilities include client communication and education, maintaining accurate medical records, prescribing medications in line with protocols, and monitoring hospitalized cases while participating in daily rounds. The Veterinary Surgeon will collaborate closely with specialists and leadership, support hospital operations, and help maintain high clinical standards. This role is suited to experienced veterinarians.

Practice Details
Our client is an AAHA-accredited specialty and emergency referral center offering 24/7 emergency care and specialty services. The hospital is equipped with advanced diagnostic tools including digital radiography, ultrasound, in-house laboratory equipment, feline and canine endoscopy, oxygen cages, and a dedicated emergency surgical suite. Additional facilities include an in-house lab and pharmacy, supporting a high standard of patient care. The culture emphasizes teamwork, collaboration, and a supportive environment, with long-tenured staff contributing to a strong team dynamic. Specialty service hours are Monday to Friday 8:00 am–5:00 pm.

Team
The team consists of 6 DVMs supported by a great tenured support team, including highly trained specialists and certified technicians. The environment is collaborative, supportive, and focused on delivering exceptional patient care through teamwork and shared expertise.

Candidate Requirements 

• Must hold the relevant degree(s) and additional qualifications to work as a veterinarian in the United States of America (USA)
• Must hold, be in the process of, or be able to obtain, a state license for the state they are applying to work in
• Must have the right to work in the United States of America (USA), or be able to obtain the required visa to do so
