Job Description
Introduction
Our client is a 24-hour specialty and emergency hospital providing advanced referral-level veterinary care and is currently hiring a full-time Veterinary Surgeon. The hospital supports a broad range of specialty services and is seeking an experienced, board-certified or residency-trained surgeon to join its established referral team.
Working Hours / Rota
This is a full-time position within a hospital that operates 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Emergency and specialty services are available at all times. Specific surgeon rota details, weekend requirements, and on-call expectations are to be discussed with the practice.
Role Description and Responsibilities
The Veterinary Surgeon will focus on advanced surgical care within a specialty and emergency setting. Clinical responsibilities include soft tissue surgery, emergency surgery, bone and joint procedures, reconstructive surgery, spinal surgery, tissue biopsies, and peri-operative case management. The role involves collaboration with emergency and specialty teams and contributing to a high standard of patient care. This position is intended for an experienced veterinarian who is board-certified or residency-trained.
Practice Details
The hospital operates from a brand-new, state-of-the-art facility spanning 20,000 square feet and is equipped for 24-hour emergency and specialty care. Advanced diagnostics and equipment include CT, ultrasound, advanced anesthetic monitoring, and comprehensive peri-operative monitoring, with additional imaging and oncology capabilities in development. Specialty services supported include emergency and critical care, internal medicine, surgery, cardiology, neurology, oncology, radiology, dermatology, and ophthalmology. The clinical culture emphasizes collaboration, education, and world-class medicine.
Team
The team consists of 10 DVMs supported by a large, skilled, and dedicated support staff. The working environment is collaborative and team-oriented, with strong technical support and a focus on teaching, mentorship, and professional growth.
Candidate Requirements
- Must hold the relevant degree(s) and additional qualifications to work as a veterinarian in the United States of America (USA)
- Must hold, be in the process of, or be able to obtain, a state license for the state they are applying to work in
- Must have the right to work in the United States of America (USA), or be able to obtain the required visa to do so
