Job Description

Introduction
Our client is a 24/7 AAHA-accredited referral and emergency hospital located in Plains, Pennsylvania, currently seeking a full-time Veterinary Surgeon to join their growing team. This position is open to Board-Certified Surgeons or Surgical Residency Trained Clinicians who are looking to work in a dynamic, multi-specialty environment with access to advanced technology and a high-caliber support team.

Working Hours / Rota
This is a full-time position with a flexible schedule consisting of three shifts per week. Some on-call and overnight coverage is required. The hospital operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week to provide continuous patient care.

Role Description and Responsibilities
The role involves performing a wide range of both soft tissue and orthopedic surgeries. Soft tissue procedures include tumor removals, intestinal obstructions, splenectomies, cystotomies, urethral blockages, internal bleeding, and treatment of lacerations or abscesses. Orthopedic procedures include cruciate ligament repairs, bone pinning, plating, Kurschner apparatus repairs, shoulder and elbow corrections, and luxating patella repairs. The position is open to experienced surgeons only.

Practice Details
The hospital is a state-of-the-art facility featuring a diagnostic lab with IDEXX SediVue Dx, a radiology suite with ultrasound, digital endoscopy, laparoscopic equipment, and a CT scanner with fluoroscopy for advanced 3D imaging. The hospital has specialized departments in internal medicine, surgery, and cardiology, as well as an integrated emergency service for 24-hour case management. Clients also have access to physical rehabilitation and acupuncture, allowing the practice to offer comprehensive, full-spectrum care.

Team
The current team includes 8 DVMs supported by a skilled and dedicated support staff. The environment is collaborative and specialty-driven, offering an excellent platform for professional development and high-quality patient care.

Candidate Requirements 

• Must hold the relevant degree(s) and additional qualifications to work as a veterinarian in the United States of America (USA)
• Must hold, be in the process of, or be able to obtain, a state license for the state they are applying to work in
• Must have the right to work in the United States of America (USA), or be able to obtain the required visa to do so
