Job Description
Introduction
Our client is a leading specialty and emergency veterinary hospital in Newtown, Connecticut, seeking a full-time board-certified or residency-trained Veterinary Surgeon to join their skilled and compassionate team. The hospital is committed to delivering exceptional surgical care, with a focus on soft tissue and oncologic procedures, while working closely with fellow specialists and clients to achieve the best patient outcomes.
Working Hours / Rota
This is a full-time position within a 24/7 hospital, ensuring access to care at all times.
Role Description and Responsibilities
The Veterinary Surgeon will perform a wide range of advanced surgical procedures, including soft tissue, orthopedic, and oncologic surgeries. Responsibilities include working collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team of specialists, managing surgical cases from consultation through post-operative care, and maintaining the highest standards of patient safety and comfort. The position is open to experienced veterinarians with advanced surgical training.

The hospital offers state-of-the-art facilities and advanced equipment to support specialized care, including anesthesia and pain management systems, continuous patient monitoring, and sterilization technologies. Specialty services include surgery, internal medicine, ophthalmology, oncology, cardiology, outpatient ultrasounds, and internal medicine consultations. Candidate Requirements
- Must hold the relevant degree(s) and additional qualifications to work as a veterinarian in the United States of America (USA)
- Must hold, be in the process of, or be able to obtain, a state license for the state they are applying to work in
- Must have the right to work in the United States of America (USA), or be able to obtain the required visa to do so
