Introduction
Our client is a hospital hiring for a full-time Veterinary Surgeon to join their established specialty and emergency center in Memphis, Tennessee. This premier multi-specialty practice is renowned across the Mid-South, serving over 2,000 referring veterinarians and offering advanced medical care in a collaborative, team-first environment.

Working Hours / Rota
This is a full-time position. The hospital provides 24/7 emergency services, and the surgical schedule will be integrated into the broader hospital operations. Specific working hours and rota details will be coordinated with the surgical team.

Role Description and Responsibilities
The Veterinary Surgeon will manage a surgical caseload encompassing a wide range of advanced procedures. The role requires a board-certified surgeon with a strong clinical skill set and a collaborative mindset. Responsibilities include performing surgeries, participating in case discussions with the broader specialist team, mentoring support staff, and contributing to the hospital’s continued reputation for excellence in surgical care. This position is open to experienced surgeons only.

Practice Details
The hospital operates from an 18,000 sq. ft. state-of-the-art facility equipped with on-site CT, digital radiology, endoscopy, ultrasound, and an I-131 treatment ward. It supports a busy and diverse caseload, offering both emergency and referral-based specialty services. The culture emphasizes clinical excellence, innovation, and teamwork within a modern and fully equipped environment.

Team
The surgical department currently includes two board-certified surgeons and is supported by a skilled and experienced technical team. The wider hospital team includes specialists in Internal Medicine, Ophthalmology, Dermatology, Radiology, and Emergency. The environment is highly collaborative, with a strong emphasis on mutual support, mentorship, and continuous professional development.

Candidate Requirements 

• Must hold the relevant degree(s) and additional qualifications to work as a veterinarian in the United States of America (USA)
• Must hold, be in the process of, or be able to obtain, a state license for the state they are applying to work in
• Must have the right to work in the United States of America (USA), or be able to obtain the required visa to do so
