Introduction
Our client is a privately owned, veterinarian-owned emergency and multi-specialty veterinary hospital seeking a board-certified or board-eligible Veterinary Surgeon to join its specialist team. Caring for dogs and cats, the hospital provides advanced soft tissue, orthopaedic, and emergency surgical care, with the Surgery service managing referred cases alongside internal transfers from Emergency, Internal Medicine, Rehabilitation and Integrative Medicine, and Neurology and Neurosurgery.

Role Description and Responsibilities
The Veterinary Surgeon will provide advanced soft tissue, orthopaedic, and emergency surgical care within a multidisciplinary specialty environment. The role includes managing referred surgical cases, providing consultations on difficult or unusual presentations, and accepting internal transfers from other departments within the hospital.
Soft tissue procedures include abdominal, cardiothoracic, brachycephalic airway and urogenital surgery, SUB placement, skin reconstructive surgery, mass removals, surgical oncology, laparoscopy, and emergency procedures. Orthopaedic procedures include fracture stabilisation, minimally invasive fracture repair, arthroscopy, angular limb deformity correction, and joint stabilisation procedures including TPLO, CBLO, extracapsular implants, open hip reduction, arthrodesis, and medial patellar luxation procedures. Candidates must be board-certified or board-eligible in Veterinary Surgery.

Practice Details
The hospital’s Emergency and Critical Care service operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year.
The Surgery service has access to advanced diagnostic and surgical technology, including a 128-slice GE Optima 660 CT, digital radiography with myelography, Canon Aplio ultrasound with transcranial capability, and C-Arm/fluoroscopic imaging.
Situated within a multi-specialty and emergency hospital, the full surgical service allows patients to receive additional specialist and postoperative care within the same facility. Services include advanced soft tissue surgery, orthopaedic surgery, minimally invasive procedures, and emergency surgery alongside the hospital’s Emergency, Critical Care, and other specialist services.

Team
The Surgery service works collaboratively with Emergency, Internal Medicine, Neurology and Neurosurgery, and Rehabilitation and Integrative Medicine. Cases can be transferred and referred internally between departments, supporting multidisciplinary management of surgical patients.

Candidate Requirements 

• Must hold the relevant degree(s) and additional qualifications to work as a veterinarian in the United States of America (USA)
• Must hold, be in the process of, or be able to obtain, a state license for the state they are applying to work in
• Must have the right to work in the United States of America (USA), or be able to obtain the required visa to do so
