Introduction
Our client is an AAHA-accredited specialty and emergency hospital in Knoxville, Tennessee, seeking a board-certified or residency-trained Veterinary Surgeon to join their collaborative multi-specialty team. This is a fantastic opportunity to work within a progressive, state-of-the-art facility with a diverse surgical caseload.

Working Hours / Rota
Both full-time and part-time positions are available, offering flexibility to support work-life balance. The hospital provides 24/7 emergency and specialty care, and the surgery team benefits from a fully staffed ICU to ensure patients receive continuous post-operative monitoring.

Role Description and Responsibilities
The Veterinary Surgeon will manage a wide range of surgical cases, including orthopedic, thoracic, abdominal, oncologic, and soft tissue procedures. The role involves collaborating with a team of specialists to deliver comprehensive patient care, while mentoring veterinary interns and support staff. Candidates must be board-certified or residency-trained in veterinary surgery and should demonstrate excellent communication and teamwork skills.

Practice Details
The hospital is fully equipped with advanced technology including a 16-slice CT scanner, Vivid iQ echocardiogram platform, fluoroscopy, high-definition laparoscopic equipment, Arthrex tools, Synthes locking plates, Storz Ho-YAG laser, and endoscopy. In addition, a 20,000-square-foot specialty expansion is underway that will add neurology, cardiology, MRI, a new CT, linear accelerator, and purpose-built surgical suites.

Team
The surgical team works alongside seven board-certified specialists in surgery, oncology, internal medicine, anesthesia, and critical care, supported by highly trained emergency veterinarians, veterinary interns, and more than 20 Licensed Veterinary Technicians. The hospital fosters a collaborative and supportive culture dedicated to delivering the highest standards of care.

Candidate Requirements 

• Must hold the relevant degree(s) and additional qualifications to work as a veterinarian in the United States of America (USA)
• Must hold, be in the process of, or be able to obtain, a state license for the state they are applying to work in
• Must have the right to work in the United States of America (USA), or be able to obtain the required visa to do so
