Introduction
Our client is a hospital that is hiring a Veterinary Ophthalmologist on either a full-time or part-time basis. This emergency, specialty, and referral hospital is excited to add Ophthalmology to its growing specialty offerings, presenting a unique opportunity for a board-certified or residency-trained Ophthalmologist to establish and lead a new service. Working with cats and dogs, you will have the rare opportunity to design your own surgical suite and treatment rooms within a space dedicated exclusively to Ophthalmology, while helping shape the future direction of the service within a thriving referral environment.

Role Description and Responsibilities
This position offers the opportunity to undertake the full scope of Veterinary Ophthalmologist responsibilities within a collaborative specialty and emergency setting. In addition to providing advanced ophthalmic care, diagnostics, and surgical procedures, the successful candidate will have the opportunity to lead the development of a new Ophthalmology Service and play a key role in its long-term success. Flexible scheduling is available, and the hospital offers full involvement in selecting equipment and making scheduling decisions. The role is suited to a board-certified or residency-trained Veterinary Ophthalmologist seeking both clinical excellence and the opportunity to build something uniquely their own.

Practice Details
The hospital operates 24 hours a day for emergency care, with board-certified surgical services available Tuesday through Friday from 8:00am to 5:00pm and outpatient ultrasound services available Monday through Friday from 8:00am to 5:00pm. Housed within a brand-new, state-of-the-art facility, the hospital provides a full scope of Emergency Services alongside specialty services including, but not limited to, board-certified Surgery, Critical Care, Internal Medicine, and Diagnostic Imaging. Advanced technology available on-site includes ultrasound, CT, and In-House Tele-Cytology, supporting the management of complex referral and emergency cases. The hospital is a VECCS Certified Level III Facility and is supported by ABVP-Certified Veterinarians, reflecting its commitment to delivering exceptional standards of patient care.

Team
You will work alongside an experienced multidisciplinary team that includes two boarded surgeons, two full-time boarded criticalists, one part-time boarded criticalist, and fourteen emergency doctors. The clinical team is supported by dedicated veterinary technicians and client service professionals who share a commitment to patient-centered, compassionate care.
