Our client is a veterinary hospital seeking a board-certified or board-eligible Ophthalmologist to join their growing specialty and emergency team in Metro Atlanta. This is an exciting opportunity to play a leading role in developing and shaping a brand-new ophthalmology department in a state-of-the-art 20,000+ sq ft facility scheduled to open in Dunwoody, GA in 2026. The role offers full-time scheduling with flexibility, allowing for a healthy work-life balance. With a strong commitment to supporting their specialists, the hospital ensures that doctors have the time and resources needed to focus on patient care. Specific hours will be arranged to complement the wider specialty and emergency services, with no non-compete restrictions limiting future career flexibility.

Role Description and Responsibilities
The Ophthalmologist will be instrumental in launching the ophthalmology service, with input into protocols, equipment selection, and team development. Clinical responsibilities will include comprehensive ophthalmic examinations, advanced diagnostics, surgical procedures, and ongoing management of ocular conditions. The role is well supported by a multi-disciplinary team, including criticalists, surgeons, internal medicine specialists, and emergency doctors, ensuring high-quality collaborative care. This position is open to board-certified or board-eligible specialists who are enthusiastic about leadership and advancing ophthalmology within a specialty hospital environment.

This hospital is purpose-built to support advanced specialty care, featuring a 20,000+ sq ft facility with modern equipment and custom-designed suites. Ophthalmology services will be supported with advanced diagnostics, electrodiagnostics, and surgical capabilities, alongside CT, MRI, ultrasound, and digital radiology. The successful candidate will join a highly skilled multi-specialty team that includes critical care specialists, surgeons, an anesthesiologist, internal medicine doctors, and emergency veterinarians. Candidate Requirements 

• Must hold the relevant degree(s) and additional qualifications to work as a veterinarian in the United States of America (USA)
• Must hold, be in the process of, or be able to obtain, a state license for the state they are applying to work in
• Must have the right to work in the United States of America (USA), or be able to obtain the required visa to do so
