Our client is a hospital specializing in advanced veterinary ophthalmology and is seeking a Veterinary Ophthalmologist to join their team. The practice delivers cutting-edge medical and surgical eye care for a wide range of patients including cats, dogs, exotic pets, and large animals, within a highly collaborative specialist environment.

Working Hours / Rota
The role is available on a full-time or part-time basis, offering flexibility. Specific hospital or doctor hours are to be discussed with the practice.

Role Description and Responsibilities
The Veterinary Ophthalmologist will be responsible for performing comprehensive ophthalmic exams, diagnostics, and advanced surgical procedures. Duties include managing complex ophthalmic conditions such as cataracts, glaucoma, corneal ulcers, tumors, and uveitis, as well as performing surgeries including cataract surgery, entropion and ectropion repair, cherry eye surgery, eyelid tumor removal, corneal surgery, and endolaser procedures. The role also involves maintaining accurate medical records, prescribing medications, monitoring cases, participating in daily rounds, and collaborating closely with the hospital leadership and clinical team. Strong client communication and education are essential, along with contributing to team efficiency and hospital protocols. This position is suited to an experienced, board-certified or residency-trained veterinarian.

Candidate Requirements 

• Must hold the relevant degree(s) and additional qualifications to work as a veterinarian in the United States of America (USA)
• Must hold, be in the process of, or be able to obtain, a state license for the state they are applying to work in
• Must have the right to work in the United States of America (USA), or be able to obtain the required visa to do so
