Introduction
This established veterinary ophthalmology referral centre in Colorado Springs, Colorado is seeking a full-time Veterinary Ophthalmologist to join its specialist team. The practice is dedicated exclusively to advanced ophthalmic care for dogs, cats and exotic pets, managing referrals from primary care and specialty veterinarians throughout the region. You’ll join two specialists currently based at the Colorado Springs location, providing the opportunity to work within an experienced and collaborative ophthalmology environment.

Working Hours / Rota
This is a full-time, on-site position within an established specialty referral setting. Exact working hours have not been provided, with the role including scheduled ophthalmology cases alongside urgent and emergency ophthalmic consultations in coordination with referring veterinarians and emergency hospitals.

Role Description and Responsibilities
As a Veterinary Ophthalmologist, you’ll diagnose and medically manage complex ocular disease, perform advanced ophthalmic surgery and provide urgent and emergency ophthalmology consultations across companion animal species. You’ll also participate in hereditary and breed-specific ocular disease evaluations including OFA and CAER examinations, develop strong relationships with referring veterinary practices and contribute to education and mentorship within the wider veterinary community. Applicants should be board-certified or board-eligible following completion of an ACVO or ECVO-approved veterinary ophthalmology residency.

Practice Details
The specialist centre provides comprehensive ophthalmic medicine and surgery with experienced technical support and access to advanced diagnostic and surgical equipment. The Colorado Springs team currently includes two veterinary ophthalmologists, providing an established specialist environment for collaborative case management and complex referrals. The practice works closely with primary care, emergency and specialty veterinarians throughout the region, with a caseload spanning medical, surgical, urgent and hereditary ophthalmic conditions.

Candidate Requirements 

• Must hold the relevant degree(s) and additional qualifications to work as a veterinarian in the United States of America (USA)
• Must hold, be in the process of, or be able to obtain, a state license for the state they are applying to work in
• Must have the right to work in the United States of America (USA), or be able to obtain the required visa to do so
