Job Description

Introduction
Our client is a hospital providing advanced specialty and emergency veterinary care and is currently hiring a Veterinary Oncologist. The hospital offers a referral-level environment designed to support high-quality, specialist-led medicine and is expanding its clinical capabilities by introducing a dedicated oncology service.

Working Hours / Rota
This is a full-time position. The role is based within a specialty referral setting that supports continuous, high-level patient care.

Role Description and Responsibilities
The Veterinary Oncologist will lead the diagnosis, treatment, and ongoing management of cancer patients, providing comprehensive exams, treatment planning, and compassionate client communication. Responsibilities include maintaining accurate medical records, managing oncology-related pharmacy protocols, collaborating with the wider hospital team, and participating in rounds, training, and practice updates to ensure the highest standards of care. Candidates must be board certified or residency trained in veterinary oncology.
This role also offers the opportunity to establish and develop the hospital’s oncology department, including creating clinical workflows and protocols and working closely with specialty and emergency teams to build a high-quality, patient-focused oncology service.

Practice Details
The hospital is a 16,000-square-foot specialty and emergency facility equipped to support advanced medical and surgical care. The facility also features in-house laboratories, a specialized pharmacy, a dedicated emergency and critical care treatment area, and three fully equipped surgical suites with advanced anesthesia and monitoring equipment.

Team
The hospital team includes eight DVMs working within a collaborative specialty environment. The structure supports close cooperation between specialists and support staff, fostering multidisciplinary case discussions and a team-focused approach to delivering high-quality referral care.

Candidate Requirements 

• Must hold the relevant degree(s) and additional qualifications to work as a veterinarian in the United States of America (USA)
• Must hold, be in the process of, or be able to obtain, a state license for the state they are applying to work in
• Must have the right to work in the United States of America (USA), or be able to obtain the required visa to do so
