Job Description

Introduction
Our client is a hospital providing emergency and specialty veterinary care for dogs and cats in Swansea, Massachusetts, and is seeking an experienced Veterinary Medical Oncologist to join the team. The practice is open to both full-time and part-time applicants and offers an advanced clinical environment with medical, surgical, and radiation oncology capabilities.

Role Description and Responsibilities
The Veterinary Medical Oncologist will provide specialist oncology care, utilizing a broad range of chemotherapy medications alongside advanced immunotherapy treatments, including the Melanoma Vaccine. The oncology department works with research groups to provide access to cutting-edge therapies and works alongside radiation oncology services to offer comprehensive cancer care. The role provides opportunities for collaboration across emergency and specialty disciplines within the hospital and its wider clinical network. This position is specifically for an experienced Veterinary Medical Oncologist.

Practice Details
The hospital operates 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, and features an advanced facility with a large intensive care unit, three operating rooms, dedicated respiratory and gastrointestinal isolation suites, an expanded in-house laboratory, oxygen cages, high-flow oxygen support, and dedicated specialty and emergency entrances. Diagnostic and treatment technology includes digital radiography, multiple diagnostic-quality ultrasound units, CT, endoscopy, and a Varian Edge linear accelerator with photon and electron radiation beam capabilities and multileaf collimator technology. The hospital provides both Medical Oncology and Radiation Oncology alongside emergency and specialty services and offers continuing education opportunities for its clinical team.

Team
The hospital has two oncology DVMs alongside a large team of emergency and specialty veterinarians. The wider clinical environment includes highly trained technicians, criticalists, and experienced emergency clinicians, with a culture centered on collaboration, mutual respect, clinical excellence, continuing education, and a constructive approach to teamwork.

Candidate Requirements 

• Must hold the relevant degree(s) and additional qualifications to work as a veterinarian in the United States of America (USA)
• Must hold, be in the process of, or be able to obtain, a state license for the state they are applying to work in
• Must have the right to work in the United States of America (USA), or be able to obtain the required visa to do so
