Our client is a specialist and emergency veterinary hospital seeking a Board-Certified or Residency-Trained Veterinary Oncologist to join their dedicated team in Santa Cruz. This AAHA-accredited practice is committed to providing advanced medical care for companion animals, offering a collaborative and supportive environment where specialists work together to deliver the highest standards of patient care.

Working Hours / Rota
The hospital is open seven days a week, providing care 24/7, including weekends and holidays. Specialty medicine is offered during weekdays, while emergency and critical care services are provided in the ICU at nights, weekends, and holidays. The Veterinary Oncologist role is structured to align with specialty service hours, with a focus on delivering high-quality oncology care while benefiting from a culture that values flexibility and work-life balance.

Role Description and Responsibilities
The Veterinary Oncologist will provide advanced oncology services, including diagnosis, staging, and treatment planning for pets with cancer. Treatment options include surgery, chemotherapy, radiation therapy, immunotherapy, targeted therapies, and palliative care when appropriate. The role involves close collaboration with other board-certified specialists and primary care veterinarians to ensure comprehensive patient care. The hospital seeks an experienced professional who can contribute to both the clinical excellence and the supportive, collegial culture of the team.

This specialist hospital offers a wide range of advanced services, including fiber-optic bronchoscopy and endoscopy, cystoscopy, laparoscopy, Doppler ultrasound, surgery, and 24-hour ICU care. Candidate Requirements 

• Must hold the relevant degree(s) and additional qualifications to work as a veterinarian in the United States of America (USA)
• Must hold, be in the process of, or be able to obtain, a state license for the state they are applying to work in
• Must have the right to work in the United States of America (USA), or be able to obtain the required visa to do so
