Job Description
Introduction
Our client is an independent, locally owned specialty and emergency hospital located in Northern California Wine Country. They are seeking a Veterinary Oncologist to join their rapidly growing team. This brand-new, state-of-the-art hospital opened in December 2020 and is dedicated to providing cutting-edge medicine while fostering a close-knit, collaborative, and supportive work environment.
Working Hours / Rota
The hospital is open 24 hours a day, Monday through Sunday, with the exception of Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day when it is closed.
Role Description and Responsibilities
The Veterinary Oncologist will play a key role in building and developing the oncology service within the hospital. The position is suited to those who have completed an Oncology residency and are Diplomates of the American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine, or are Board Qualified with plans to sit for exams.

The hospital is completely cloud-based and offers 24/7 patient care, emergency services, internal medicine, and surgery. The team benefits from advanced diagnostic imaging, including ultrasonography, digital radiography, and CT scanning, alongside comprehensive laboratory, pharmacy, and specialty services. The hospital’s culture is centered around collaboration, approachability, and professional growth, ensuring a supportive and dynamic working environment.
Team
The hospital team currently includes 12 DVMs, supported by a wider team of staff who contribute to a collaborative and positive culture where both hard work and fun are valued.
Candidate Requirements
- Must hold the relevant degree(s) and additional qualifications to work as a veterinarian in the United States of America (USA)
- Must hold, be in the process of, or be able to obtain, a state license for the state they are applying to work in
- Must have the right to work in the United States of America (USA), or be able to obtain the required visa to do so
