Our client is a leading emergency and specialty veterinary hospital that is currently seeking a Veterinary Medical Oncologist to join its advanced specialty team. The hospital provides high-level care exclusively to small animal patients and supports a large and diverse referral caseload. This opportunity is ideal for a board-certified or residency-trained oncologist who is passionate about delivering exceptional cancer care within a collaborative, multidisciplinary specialty environment.

Working Hours / Rota
The hospital operates extended hours to support both emergency and specialty services, with 24/7 coverage on Saturdays and Sundays, and weekday hours from 12:00 am to 8:00 am and 6:00 pm to 11:59 pm. The role offers a highly flexible schedule, with openness to both full-time and part-time arrangements. Scheduling can be tailored to suit individual preferences, allowing for a balance between clinical practice and personal commitments.

Role Description and Responsibilities
As a Veterinary Medical Oncologist, you will be responsible for delivering comprehensive oncology care to small animal patients. This includes diagnosing and managing oncologic conditions, developing and overseeing treatment plans, administering chemotherapy, and collaborating closely with referring veterinarians and in-house specialists. You will communicate clearly and compassionately with clients, guiding them through complex diagnoses and treatment options. This role is designed for an experienced oncologist who is board-certified or residency trained and committed to maintaining the highest standards of specialty veterinary medicine.

The hospital is fully equipped with advanced diagnostic and treatment technology to support high-quality specialty care. Serving more than 8,000 patients annually, the facility provides a dynamic and fast-paced clinical environment with strong referral relationships. The specialty and emergency hospital offers a wide range of services, including emergency medicine, internal medicine, surgery, and urgent care, creating an integrated approach to patient management and continuity of care.

Team
You will join a collaborative team of seven DVMs, many of whom specialise in their respective fields, fostering a multidisciplinary approach to complex case management. The hospital is supported by a skilled and dedicated support staff who play a vital role in delivering exceptional patient care and ensuring smooth daily operations. The team culture is professional, supportive, and focused on clinical excellence and collaboration.

Candidate Requirements 

• Must hold the relevant degree(s) and additional qualifications to work as a veterinarian in the United States of America (USA)
• Must hold, be in the process of, or be able to obtain, a state license for the state they are applying to work in
• Must have the right to work in the United States of America (USA), or be able to obtain the required visa to do so
