Introduction
Our client is an AAHA-accredited specialty and emergency hospital in New Orleans, seeking a Medical Oncologist (board-certified or residency-trained) to join and expand their medical oncology service. The hospital provides advanced care for small animals, offering comprehensive specialty services in a collaborative and team-oriented environment.

Working Hours / Rota
The hospital operates 24/7, providing continuous emergency and specialty care. Scheduling will be arranged to accommodate both the clinician’s preferences and the hospital’s operational needs, with opportunities for flexible shift patterns.

Role Description and Responsibilities
The Medical Oncologist will diagnose and manage complex oncology cases, utilizing advanced treatment modalities such as immunotherapy, electrochemotherapy, hemoperfusion, hemodialysis, and apheresis. The role involves collaborating with other specialists, mentoring rotating interns, specialty interns, and residents, and maintaining strong communication with referring veterinarians and clients. This position is open to board-certified or residency-trained veterinarians with a focus on delivering high-quality, compassionate care.

Practice Details
The hospital is equipped with cutting-edge technology, including high-flow oxygen, mechanical ventilation, MR imaging, digital radiology, fluoroscopy, I-131, ultrasound, CT, laparoscopy, endoscopy, and in-house laboratory services. Facilities support advanced ICU care, critical care, and a broad range of specialty services including cardiology, dermatology, internal medicine, medical oncology, surgery, and rehabilitation. The hospital culture emphasizes collaboration, professional development, and patient-centered care, with access to a sister facility for additional specialty services such as radiology, neurology, MRI, dialysis, and plasmapheresis.

Candidate Requirements 

• Must hold the relevant degree(s) and additional qualifications to work as a veterinarian in the United States of America (USA)
• Must hold, be in the process of, or be able to obtain, a state license for the state they are applying to work in
• Must have the right to work in the United States of America (USA), or be able to obtain the required visa to do so
