For a board-certified or residency-trained Medical Oncologist who values having multiple specialties under one roof, this 24/7 Emergency and Specialty hospital in Los Angeles, California is looking to welcome a full-time Veterinary Oncologist. Providing advanced care for dogs and cats, the hospital combines a dedicated Oncology service with Emergency & Critical Care and a broad range of other specialty disciplines, creating a genuinely collaborative environment for managing patients whose care extends beyond a single specialty. Role Description and Responsibilities
This role encompasses the full scope of Veterinary Medical Oncology responsibilities, giving you the opportunity to manage a varied referral caseload from initial investigation and diagnosis through to the development and ongoing management of individualized cancer treatment plans. You’ll have the clinical resources to explore different treatment options with clients and manage patients throughout their cancer care, including access to dedicated facilities for the safe administration of Chemotherapy. Collaboration is a big part of the opportunity, with specialists across Surgery, Internal Medicine, Diagnostic Imaging, Cardiology and Emergency & Critical Care available when patients would benefit from a multidisciplinary approach. The hospital’s teaching environment also provides opportunities to contribute to the development of interns and other veterinary professionals while continuing to develop within your own specialty. This opportunity is suited to a board-certified or residency-trained Medical Oncologist.

Practice Details
The hospital operates 24 hours a day, seven days a week and provides Emergency & Critical Care alongside Oncology, Internal Medicine, Cardiology, Diagnostic Imaging and Surgery. Equipment and clinical capabilities available include, but are not limited to, CT, Fluoroscopy, Digital Radiography and an In-House STAT Laboratory with Hematology Analysis, alongside advanced diagnostic, surgical and critical care facilities. The Oncology service has a dedicated Chemotherapy treatment area and specialist equipment for the safe preparation and administration of Chemotherapy, supporting individualized cancer treatment within the hospital. The wider clinical setup also provides advanced surgical and interventional capabilities, allowing Oncology patients to benefit from close collaboration across several specialties without having to manage each part of their care independently.

Team
You’ll be joining an established Oncology service led by a board-certified Medical Oncologist, while becoming part of a considerably larger team of specialists and Emergency clinicians across the hospital. Cardiology, Internal Medicine, Diagnostic Imaging, Surgery and Emergency & Critical Care are all represented within the current clinical team, giving you plenty of specialist colleagues to bounce ideas off and collaborate with when patients require input beyond Oncology. The hospital also operates as an academic veterinary hospital, with a strong emphasis on education and collaboration, creating an environment where sharing knowledge and discussing more complex cases are genuinely part of the culture.

Candidate Requirements 

• Must hold the relevant degree(s) and additional qualifications to work as a veterinarian in the United States of America (USA)
• Must hold, be in the process of, or be able to obtain, a state license for the state they are applying to work in
• Must have the right to work in the United States of America (USA), or be able to obtain the required visa to do so
