Job Description

Introduction
Our client is a multi-specialty and emergency veterinary hospital hiring for a Veterinary Oncologist. The hospital provides advanced specialty and emergency veterinary care for dogs and cats and serves the greater Tampa Bay and Pinellas County areas. The successful candidate will join a collaborative team of specialists delivering advanced veterinary care in a well-established referral hospital that has served the community for over 30 years.

Working Hours / Rota
This is a full-time position. Specialty services operate Monday through Friday from 9:00am to 5:00pm. The emergency department operates 24 hours a day, providing continuous emergency care.

Role Description and Responsibilities
The Veterinary Oncologist will provide advanced oncology care within a multi-disciplinary specialty and emergency hospital. The role involves working collaboratively with specialists, emergency doctors, and referring veterinarians to deliver coordinated patient care. This position is open to experienced veterinarians.

Practice Details
The hospital is a multi-specialty and emergency facility serving the greater Tampa Bay area and providing care for dogs and cats. Established in 1982, it was the first multi-specialty veterinary and emergency hospital on Florida’s west coast and treats over 13,000 patients each year. The hospital features a full-service ICU, an in-house laboratory, and advanced capabilities including digital radiography, telemetry, ultrasonography, and interventional endoscopy. The specialty team provides services including dermatology, internal medicine, ophthalmology, neurology, surgery, radiology, and orthopedic care, working closely with primary care veterinarians to provide coordinated care. The hospital emphasizes collaboration and teamwork, with specialists, emergency doctors, and referring veterinarians working closely together in a supportive environment.

Team
The hospital team consists of 14 DVMs supported by a great tenured support team, creating a collaborative and experienced working environment.

Candidate Requirements 

• Must hold the relevant degree(s) and additional qualifications to work as a veterinarian in the United States of America (USA)
• Must hold, be in the process of, or be able to obtain, a state license for the state they are applying to work in
• Must have the right to work in the United States of America (USA), or be able to obtain the required visa to do so
