Job Description
Introduction
Our client is a specialty hospital seeking a Veterinary Oncologist to join their team, providing dedicated care for cats within a progressive and collaborative environment.
Role Description and Responsibilities
The Veterinary Oncologist will play a key role in developing and delivering oncology services within the hospital, with the opportunity to build and shape the oncology department. Responsibilities include diagnosing and managing cancer cases, developing treatment plans, and collaborating closely with internal medicine, surgery, and emergency teams to provide comprehensive patient care. The role involves utilizing advanced diagnostics, guiding treatment protocols, and supporting clients through complex medical decisions with compassionate communication. This position is suited to an experienced, board-certified or residency-trained oncologist who values collaboration, innovation, and high standards of care.
Practice Details
The hospital is a newly built, state-of-the-art 21,000 sq. ft. specialty facility. It is equipped with advanced technology including a full in-house laboratory, 64-slice CT, MRI, ultrasound, in-house blood bank with component therapy, I-131 therapy, minimally invasive surgery capabilities, flexible and rigid endoscopy, fluoroscopy, and a dedicated ICU with long-term mechanical ventilation. The oncology service will include a dedicated oncology suite with access to specialized equipment. Services offered include oncology, diagnostic imaging, internal medicine, neurology, surgery, and 24/7 emergency care. The hospital has 10 DVMs and a great tenured support team, including board-certified specialists and highly trained support staff, fostering a collaborative and collegial working environment.
Candidate Requirements
- Must hold the relevant degree(s) and additional qualifications to work as a veterinarian in the United States of America (USA)
- Must hold, be in the process of, or be able to obtain, a state license for the state they are applying to work in
- Must have the right to work in the United States of America (USA), or be able to obtain the required visa to do so
