Introduction
Our client is a hospital providing care for small animal patients and is seeking a Veterinary Neurologist to join their team in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. This opportunity is available on either a full-time or part-time basis and is ideal for a Board-Certified or Board-Eligible Neurologist seeking a collaborative referral environment with access to advanced technology and a diverse neurological caseload. As part of a multi-specialty and emergency hospital network, the successful candidate will work alongside experienced specialists, emergency clinicians, technicians, and support staff while managing complex neurologic and neurosurgical cases.
Role Description and Responsibilities
The Veterinary Neurologist will provide comprehensive neurological evaluations, diagnostics, treatment planning, and neurosurgical care for small animal patients. Responsibilities include conducting patient examinations and medical workups, diagnosing and managing neurological disorders, communicating findings and treatment plans to clients, maintaining accurate medical records, prescribing medications, and adhering to controlled substance protocols. Clinical exposure includes the diagnosis and treatment of tremors, behavioral changes, spinal pain, leg paralysis and weakness, balance disorders, seizures, and intervertebral disc disease. The role also includes collaborating with hospital leadership and clinical teams, participating in daily rounds, supporting hospital protocols, promoting staff efficiency, and contributing to ongoing training and development initiatives. This position is intended for experienced veterinarians who are Board Certified in Neurology.
Practice Details
The hospital is a full-service specialty referral and emergency facility providing advanced specialty care alongside 24-hour emergency and critical care services. Equipment includes Snyder Intensive Care Units, advanced in-house laboratory capabilities, digital radiography, high-resolution ultrasound, a 1.5 Tesla GE MRI scanner, a 128-slice CT scanner, a Varian Linear Accelerator with SRT and IMRT capabilities, fiber optic bronchoscopy, advanced surgical equipment, and state-of-the-art patient monitoring systems. Facilities include comprehensive hospitalization services, intensive care support, advanced imaging capabilities, specialty referral services, and round-the-clock emergency care. Services offered include surgery, internal medicine, neurology, emergency and critical care, advanced diagnostic imaging, radiation therapy, and endoscopy. The hospital is part of a network of specialty and emergency referral hospitals throughout the Carolinas, providing access to a collaborative multidisciplinary environment and a broad referral caseload. Specialty services are available Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with emergency services operating 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

Candidate Requirements
- Must hold the relevant degree(s) and additional qualifications to work as a veterinarian in the United States of America (USA)
- Must hold, be in the process of, or be able to obtain, a state license for the state they are applying to work in
- Must have the right to work in the United States of America (USA), or be able to obtain the required visa to do so
