Introduction
Our client is a fast-paced and rapidly expanding emergency and specialty hospital located in the stunning coastal city of Ventura, California. Founded in August 2018 by five board-certified veterinarians, the hospital was built on a vision to inspire meaningful change within the veterinary community—for patients, pet parents, and the professionals who dedicate their lives to veterinary medicine. As the hospital continues to grow, they are looking to expand their Internal Medicine Department with a passionate, curious, and dedicated Veterinary Internist. This opportunity is open to board-certified internists as well as residency-trained and board-eligible candidates.

Working Hours / Rota
The hospital is open 24/7, seven days a week, providing round-the-clock care. The position can be structured as either full-time or part-time, with flexible scheduling tailored to suit your lifestyle.

Role Description and Responsibilities
The Veterinary Internist will play an integral role within the hospital’s Internal Medicine Department. Daily responsibilities will include performing and interpreting advanced diagnostics, collaborating with emergency and specialty teams, and providing exceptional care to patients while supporting and educating their families. The position welcomes both experienced specialists and those newer to the field, with opportunities for mentorship and professional growth from a collegial team of board-certified internists.

The hospital is equipped with state-of-the-art facilities and cutting-edge technology, including advanced endoscopic tools and a top-tier ultrasound unit. Certified by the American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine, the hospital provides a wide range of specialty and emergency services, including internal medicine, emergency care, critical care/ICU, diagnostic imaging, and surgery. Team
The Internal Medicine Department is made up of three board-certified veterinary internists with over 50 years of combined experience, offering a collegial and supportive environment. The wider team includes two criticalists and three ER veterinarians, with a compassionate and skilled support staff dedicated to patient care and teamwork.

Candidate Requirements 

• Must hold the relevant degree(s) and additional qualifications to work as a veterinarian in the United States of America (USA)
• Must hold, be in the process of, or be able to obtain, a state license for the state they are applying to work in
• Must have the right to work in the United States of America (USA), or be able to obtain the required visa to do so
