Job Description
Introduction
Our client is a hospital seeking an experienced Veterinary Internist to join their 24-hour specialty and emergency referral team in Upland, California. This is a fantastic opportunity for a board-certified or residency-trained internist who values a collaborative, supportive culture focused on excellent patient care and strong team relationships.
Working Hours / Rota
The hospital is open seven days a week, offering 24/7 emergency and specialty care. The role is full-time with flexibility in scheduling to promote work-life balance. Specific doctor hours are not provided.
Role Description and Responsibilities
The internist will lead and manage complex internal medicine cases, utilizing advanced diagnostics and equipment to deliver high-quality care to patients. The role includes working closely with a high-performing medical team to foster collaboration and ensure efficient hospital operations. This position is open to experienced veterinarians only.
Practice Details
The newly renovated facility features a full in-house laboratory, high-quality ultrasound, continuous ECG telemetry, endoscopy suite, Class II NuAire Biosafety Cabinet, and an in-house pharmacy. Additional tools include digital radiography, bloodwork, urinalysis, and fecal testing. Services offered include emergency care, internal medicine, specialized surgical services, and comprehensive diagnostics. The culture is centered around transparency, teamwork, and delivering high-standard care to companion animals.
Team
The team includes a highly trained technical staff with multiple registered veterinary technicians. The internist will work alongside emergency veterinarians and specialists in a collaborative, patient-focused environment that emphasizes mentorship, professional growth, and mutual respect.
Candidate Requirements
- Must hold the relevant degree(s) and additional qualifications to work as a veterinarian in the United States of America (USA)
- Must hold, be in the process of, or be able to obtain, a state license for the state they are applying to work in
- Must have the right to work in the United States of America (USA), or be able to obtain the required visa to do so
