Introduction
Our client is a hospital seeking a Veterinary Internist. This is a comprehensive, advanced care emergency and specialty hospital providing 24/7/365 emergency and critical care services, as well as specialty support in internal medicine, cardiology, surgery and diagnostic imaging for companion animals.

Working Hours / Rota
The hospital is open Monday through Sunday, 24 hours a day. Full-time or part-time availability is offered.

Role Description and Responsibilities
Clinical responsibilities include providing internal medicine services across a wide range of diagnostic and therapeutic procedures. These responsibilities include abdominocentesis, arthrocentesis, bronchoalveolar lavage, bronchoscopy, colonoscopy, cystoscopy, diagnosis and management of inappropriate urination and defecation, diagnosis and medical management of liver shunts, endotracheal or trans-tracheal washing, endoscopy for foreign body removal, esophageal stricture management including ballooning, esophagoscopy, gastroduodenoscopy, radioactive iodine therapy for feline hyperthyroidism, rhinoscopy, supplemental feeding tube placement and management, thoracocentesis, tracheal stent placement and urethral stent placement. The role is available to board-certified or residency-trained candidates.

Practice Details
The hospital is equipped with Aquilion helical 64-slice CT, two radiograph rooms, IM ultrasound, two point-of-care ultrasounds, C-arm fluoroscopy, Ligasure, a Stores Tower, a laparoscope and endoscopy equipment. Facilities include two lobbies, nine exam rooms, two treatment rooms, two surgical suites, two isolation areas for UR and GI cases and individual procedure rooms dedicated to ultrasound, echocardiography and scoping procedures. Supportive care capabilities include mechanical ventilation, oxygen therapy using ten Snyder cages and nasal oxygen, transfusion therapy and advanced fluid support. Intensive care monitoring capabilities include continuous telemetry, pulse oximetry, capnography, CVP monitoring and direct and indirect blood pressure monitoring. In-house laboratory capabilities include co-oximetry, TEG, blood gas and electrolytes using Nova and i-STAT, CBC, coagulation profiles and chemistry profiles. The hospital hosts multiple specialty departments including cardiology, counseling, diagnostic imaging, emergency and critical care, internal medicine, interventional radiology and surgery.

Team
The hospital has 10 DVMs and 25 support staff, including 9 Registered Veterinary Technicians, working within a collaborative specialty and emergency care environment.

Candidate Requirements 

• Must hold the relevant degree(s) and additional qualifications to work as a veterinarian in the United States of America (USA)
• Must hold, be in the process of, or be able to obtain, a state license for the state they are applying to work in
• Must have the right to work in the United States of America (USA), or be able to obtain the required visa to do so
