Job Description
Introduction
Our client is a 24-hour specialty and emergency referral hospital in Tucson, Arizona, a busy multi-specialty hospital in a 32,000 square foot award-winning, state-of-the-art facility, seeking to hire a veterinary internist (DACVIM). The hospital is looking for a board-certified or residency-trained internist to join their collaborative team of specialists in radiology, surgery, dermatology, and emergency/critical care.
Working Hours / Rota
The hospital is open 24 hours, seven days a week. The ideal schedule for this position would be full-time, with specific doctor hours open to discussion.
Role Description and Responsibilities
The veterinary internist will provide specialized internal medicine services within the hospital and must be board-certified or residency-trained. This role is open to experienced candidates.
Practice Details
The hospital features separate specialty and emergency entrances and lobbies, 16 exam rooms, 96 kennels, four surgical suites, and one dental suite. It is fully equipped with video-endoscopy, mobile and stationary color-flow Doppler ultrasounds, a large central ICU with oxygen cage, Pulmonetics ventilator, telemetry, portable ultrasound unit, in-house lab, spiral CT scanner, a brand new 1.5 tesla Hallmarq PetVet MRI, and digital radiography, Iodine 131, Force Triad/LigaSure with numerous hand pieces, a full complement of stapling equipment, Stryker arthroscopy/laparoscopy tower, CO2 laser, operating microscope, and neurosurgical equipment.
Team
The team consists of eight emergency doctors and three specialist doctors, supported by a collaborative environment focused on high-quality patient care.
Candidate Requirements
- Must hold the relevant degree(s) and additional qualifications to work as a veterinarian in the United States of America (USA)
- Must hold, be in the process of, or be able to obtain, a state license for the state they are applying to work in
- Must have the right to work in the United States of America (USA), or be able to obtain the required visa to do so
