Job Description
Introduction
Our client is a hospital seeking a Veterinary Internist to join their specialty and emergency team in Springfield, VA. The center is a 24/7 facility that provides advanced care through a wide range of specialty services and is looking to expand its internal medicine department with an experienced clinician.
Working Hours / Rota
This is a full-time position. The hospital is open seven days a week and operates 24/7, supporting both scheduled specialty care and continuous emergency coverage.
Role Description and Responsibilities
This position is suited for an experienced internist. The role focuses on diagnosing and managing complex internal conditions involving systems such as the immune, cardiovascular, respiratory, digestive, urinary, endocrine, and hematologic systems. Cases commonly seen include seizures related to endocrine disorders, chronic respiratory disease, gastrointestinal issues, kidney or liver disease, diabetes, bleeding disorders, and cancer evaluations. The internal medicine team works closely with primary care veterinarians and other specialists to deliver a comprehensive and collaborative treatment plan.

The hospital provides 24/7 emergency and critical care alongside specialty services in Surgery, Internal Medicine, Medical Oncology, Critical Care, Dermatology, Neurology, Cardiology, Radioiodine treatment, and Physical Rehabilitation. The internal medicine department is supported by a collaborative environment that prioritizes mentorship, team-based care, and diagnostic precision. Candidate Requirements
- Must hold the relevant degree(s) and additional qualifications to work as a veterinarian in the United States of America (USA)
- Must hold, be in the process of, or be able to obtain, a state license for the state they are applying to work in
- Must have the right to work in the United States of America (USA), or be able to obtain the required visa to do so
