Job Description

Introduction
Our client is a hospital seeking a Veterinary Internist to join their 24/7 emergency and specialty center in Sonoma County. This role is suited for a board-certified or residency-trained Internist who will contribute to a high-level specialty service supported by advanced diagnostics, a strong referral base, and a multidisciplinary team.
Working Hours / Rota
The hospital is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Full-time or part-time availability is offered.
Role Description and Responsibilities
The Veterinary Internist will join an established internal medicine department offering a wide range of diagnostic and therapeutic services. Clinical responsibilities include abdominocentesis, arthrocentesis, bronchoalveolar lavage, bronchoscopy, colonoscopy, cystoscopy, dietary counseling, diagnosis and medical management of liver shunts, endo or trans tracheal washing, foreign body removal via endoscopy, esophagoscopy, esophageal stricture management including ballooning, gastroduodenoscopy, rhinoscopy, supplemental feeding tube placement management, thoracocentesis, tracheal stent placement, and urethral stent placement. The position is open to board-certified or residency-trained clinicians.
Practice Details
The hospital is an 18,000 square foot 24/7 emergency and specialty facility equipped with a 1.5T MRI, on-site CT, endoscopy and laparoscopy equipment, multiple ultrasounds, three oxygen cages, fluoroscopy, laser, and an underwater treadmill. The facility features 15 exam rooms and 4 surgical suites and offers specialty services including internal medicine, surgery, neurology, cardiology, and emergency care. The hospital has been a community resource for nearly 40 years and emphasizes compassionate care, sustainability initiatives through its established Green Team, and a commitment to providing state-of-the-art medical solutions.
Team
The hospital team includes 14 DVMs and 10 support staff, including 6 RVTs, working collaboratively across multiple specialty departments to provide advanced and compassionate veterinary care.

Candidate Requirements 

  • Must hold the relevant degree(s) and additional qualifications to work as a veterinarian in the United States of America (USA)
  • Must hold, be in the process of, or be able to obtain, a state license for the state they are applying to work in
  • Must have the right to work in the United States of America (USA), or be able to obtain the required visa to do so
