Job Description

Introduction
Our client is a large, 24/7 specialty and emergency referral hospital serving Northern California, currently seeking a Veterinary Internist to join their team on either a full-time or part-time basis. The hospital provides advanced referral and emergency care for dogs and cats and offers access to a broad range of specialty services within a highly collaborative clinical environment. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced internist looking to work alongside a multidisciplinary team while managing complex referral cases and delivering specialist-level patient care.

Role Description and Responsibilities
As a Veterinary Internist, you will be responsible for the diagnosis, treatment, and long-term management of complex medical conditions in companion animals. Working closely with referring veterinarians, you will provide specialist-level care through comprehensive patient assessments, interpretation of advanced diagnostic testing, development of tailored treatment plans, and the performance of procedures including endoscopy and ultrasound.
The role involves managing both hospitalized and critical patients, communicating effectively with clients regarding diagnoses, prognoses, and treatment options, and maintaining detailed and accurate medical records. You will collaborate closely with specialists across multiple disciplines to ensure the highest standards of patient care and clinical excellence. This opportunity is open to experienced candidates only.

Practice Details
This well-equipped, multi-specialty referral and emergency hospital operates 24 hours a day, seven days a week, providing comprehensive care for a wide range of complex referral cases. The facility is designed to support advanced patient care through dedicated specialty, emergency, critical care, surgical, diagnostic imaging, and rehabilitation services, all under one roof.
Clinicians have access to advanced diagnostic and therapeutic technology, including MRI, CT, fluoroscopy, endoscopy, digital radiography, comprehensive ultrasonography, ultrasound-guided biopsy capabilities, and advanced surgical and critical care resources. The hospital is supported by board-certified specialists across Internal Medicine, Cardiology, Neurology, Surgery, and Emergency & Critical Care, creating a highly collaborative environment where clinicians can work together to deliver exceptional patient outcomes.
Services offered include Internal Medicine, Surgery, Neurology, Cardiology, Emergency & Critical Care, Diagnostic Imaging, Rehabilitation, and Oncology support. Through its multidisciplinary approach and advanced diagnostic capabilities, the hospital is able to provide seamless management of complex medical, surgical, and critical care cases while maintaining the highest standards of veterinary medicine.

Team
You will be joining a team of 14 DVMs working across multiple specialty and emergency disciplines within a collaborative referral environment. The clinical team is supported by 8 Registered Veterinary Technicians, alongside an extended network of dedicated support staff who contribute to the efficient day-to-day operation of the hospital and the delivery of exceptional patient care.
