Job Description
Introduction
Our client is a privately owned specialty and emergency hospital based in Northern California Wine Country. They are seeking a Veterinary Internist to join their dynamic and compassionate team. This brand-new, state-of-the-art hospital opened in December 2020 and is dedicated to cutting-edge medicine while maintaining a close-knit family dynamic.
Working Hours / Rota
The hospital is open 24 hours a day, Monday through Sunday, with the exception of Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day when it is closed.
Role Description and Responsibilities
The Veterinary Internist will provide clinical expertise in diagnosing and managing patients with complicated illnesses, supported by advanced diagnostic tools. This role requires completion of an Internal Medicine residency and is open to candidates who are Diplomates of the American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine, or Board Qualified with a plan to sit for exams.

The hospital is fully cloud-based and offers 24/7 patient care, emergency services, internal medicine, and surgery. Cutting-edge facilities include state-of-the-art Internal Medicine and Surgery Departments with ultrasound, CT, endoscopy suites, and comprehensive soft tissue, orthopedic, and spinal surgery capabilities. A comprehensive in-house lab and imaging suite support advanced diagnostics, and the spacious facility is designed for future expansion. Services include diagnostic imaging with ultrasonography, digital radiography, and CT scan, as well as emergency, laboratory, pharmacy, and specialty care. Team
The hospital team currently includes 12 DVMs, supported by a wider group of staff in a collaborative and approachable environment where personal and professional development is encouraged.
Candidate Requirements
- Must hold the relevant degree(s) and additional qualifications to work as a veterinarian in the United States of America (USA)
- Must hold, be in the process of, or be able to obtain, a state license for the state they are applying to work in
- Must have the right to work in the United States of America (USA), or be able to obtain the required visa to do so
