Job Description

Introduction
Our client is a 24-hour emergency and specialty hospital seeking a board-certified or residency-trained Internist to join its team. The position is available on either a full-time or part-time basis within a multidisciplinary hospital providing Emergency and Critical Care, Internal Medicine, Surgery, and Oncology services.

Role Description and Responsibilities
The Internist will diagnose and medically manage complex internal medicine cases, working alongside emergency doctors and specialists to provide coordinated patient care. Internal medicine procedures include abdominocentesis, arthrocentesis, bronchoalveolar lavage, bronchoscopy, colonoscopy, cystoscopy, endoscopy, esophagoscopy, gastroduodenoscopy, rhinoscopy, thoracocentesis, foreign body removal, liver shunt management, esophageal stricture management, supplemental feeding tube placement, and nutritional support. The role requires a board-certified or residency-trained veterinary internist.

Practice Details
The hospital operates 24 hours a day, seven days a week and provides specialist and emergency care across Internal Medicine, Emergency and Critical Care, Surgery, and Oncology. Diagnostic and treatment capabilities include endoscopy, bronchoscopy, laparoscopy, advanced anesthetic and perioperative monitoring, continuous ECG and telemetry, direct blood pressure and cardiac output monitoring, mechanical ventilation, oxygen therapy, transfusion therapy, and an in-house STAT laboratory with blood chemistry, hematology, and coagulation analyzers. Additional services include advanced and emergency surgery, minimally invasive procedures, chemotherapy, immunotherapy, cancer staging, clinical pathology, pain management, nutritional support, and intensive critical care.

Team
The hospital has 25 DVMs and a highly skilled team of credentialed veterinary technicians and veterinary assistants. Client care coordinators and customer service representatives manage communication and financial aspects of cases, allowing the clinical team to focus on patient care. Specialists and emergency doctors work collaboratively across disciplines, with an emphasis on consultation, teamwork, teaching, and continued professional development.

Candidate Requirements 

• Must hold the relevant degree(s) and additional qualifications to work as a veterinarian in the United States of America (USA)
• Must hold, be in the process of, or be able to obtain, a state license for the state they are applying to work in
• Must have the right to work in the United States of America (USA), or be able to obtain the required visa to do so
