Introduction
Our client is a specialty hospital in Memphis, Tennessee, currently seeking a full-time Veterinary Internist to join their multi-disciplinary team. This position is ideal for a board-certified or residency-trained internist who thrives in a collaborative and high-performing environment focused on delivering exceptional care to both patients and referring veterinarians.
Working Hours / Rota
This is a full-time position within a 24/7 emergency and specialty hospital. Flexible working conditions are emphasized to support a balanced work-life culture.
Role Description and Responsibilities
The Internal Medicine Specialist will focus on diagnosing and managing complex cases involving the immune, cardiovascular, pulmonary, urinary, gastrointestinal, and endocrine systems. Responsibilities include conducting advanced diagnostic procedures, collaborating with other specialists, and developing tailored treatment plans for referred patients. This role is open to experienced internists who are board-certified or residency-trained.
Practice Details
The hospital operates in an 18,000 sq. ft. state-of-the-art facility equipped with a CT scanner, digital radiology, ultrasound, endoscopy, and an I-131 treatment ward. Internal medicine services include abdominal ultrasound, endoscopy, bronchoscopy, rhinoscopy, bone marrow biopsies, joint aspirates, CSF analysis, EKG, and blood pressure monitoring. The hospital maintains a culture of clinical excellence and teamwork and serves over 2,000 veterinarians across five states.
Team
The internist will be joining a team of highly skilled emergency clinicians and board-certified specialists, supported by experienced technical staff. The environment is collaborative, respectful, and focused on delivering the highest standard of specialty care.
Candidate Requirements
- Must hold the relevant degree(s) and additional qualifications to work as a veterinarian in the United States of America (USA)
- Must hold, be in the process of, or be able to obtain, a state license for the state they are applying to work in
- Must have the right to work in the United States of America (USA), or be able to obtain the required visa to do so
