Introduction
Our client is a privately owned, veterinarian-owned emergency and multi-specialty veterinary hospital seeking a board-certified or board-eligible Veterinary Internist to join its specialist team. Caring for dogs and cats, the Internal Medicine service provides advanced investigation, diagnosis, treatment, and ongoing management of complicated and chronic medical conditions. The department forms part of a multidisciplinary referral service and works alongside Emergency and Critical Care and other specialist departments to manage complex medical cases.

Role Description and Responsibilities
The Veterinary Internist will assess, diagnose, treat, and manage complicated and chronic medical conditions affecting internal organs and body systems. The role involves utilising advanced diagnostic modalities including ultrasonography, endoscopy, and CT while managing patients across a broad range of Internal Medicine disciplines.
The caseload includes endocrinological, respiratory, gastrointestinal, renal and urinary, immunological, haematological, and hepatobiliary conditions. Advanced diagnostics and treatments include ultrasonography, endoscopy, CT, enteral and parenteral nutrition, fluoroscopic contrast studies, and bone marrow and advanced microscopy analysis. Candidates must be board-certified or board-eligible in Veterinary Internal Medicine.

Practice Details
The hospital provides Emergency and Critical Care services 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year.
The Internal Medicine department has access to advanced diagnostic technology, including a 32-slice BodyTom Neurologica CT scanner, ultrasonography, endoscopy, and fluoroscopy. Endoscopic capabilities include bronchoscopy, gastroscopy, duodenoscopy, colonoscopy, rhinoscopy, and cystoscopy.
Operating within a multidisciplinary emergency and specialty hospital, the Internal Medicine service supports the advanced investigation and ongoing management of complicated and chronic conditions. Services encompass Endocrinology, Respiratory Medicine, Gastroenterology, Urology, Immunology and Hematology, and Hepatobiliary Medicine, alongside advanced diagnostic procedures.

Team
The department receives referred patients and operates within a hospital offering direct access to Emergency and Critical Care, Surgery, Neurology and Neurosurgery, Cardiology, and Rehabilitation and Integrative Medicine.

Candidate Requirements 

• Must hold the relevant degree(s) and additional qualifications to work as a veterinarian in the United States of America (USA)
• Must hold, be in the process of, or be able to obtain, a state license for the state they are applying to work in
• Must have the right to work in the United States of America (USA), or be able to obtain the required visa to do so
