Introduction
The client is a multi-specialty referral hospital hiring a Veterinary Internist. A board-certified or residency-trained Internist will be supported by advanced medicine, technology, facilities, and a highly skilled team. The environment empowers clinicians to perform their best work with reliable support. The hospital offers Critical Care, two Surgeons, two Internal Medicine specialists, two Medical Oncologists, Neurology, advanced imaging, endoscopy, and a USP 800 compliant chemotherapy hood. The facility is AAHA accredited and provides access to a network of specialists.

Working Hours / Rota
The position offers full or part-time availability. The hospital is a specialty and emergency animal facility located in the west San Fernando Valley area of Southern California, just northwest of Los Angeles.

Role Description and Responsibilities
The Internist will focus on Internal Medicine within a multi-specialty environment that includes Critical Care, Surgery, Medical Oncology, Neurology, Diagnostic Imaging, and Emergency services. Internal Medicine procedures available include abdominocentesis, arthrocentesis, bronchoalveolar lavage, bronchoscopy, colonoscopy, cystoscopy, diagnosis and medical management of liver shunts, endotracheal washing, endoscopic foreign body removal, esophageal stricture management including ballooning, esophagoscopy, gastroduodenoscopy, rhinoscopy, supplemental feeding tube placement and management, and thoracocentesis.

Practice Details
The hospital provides advanced imaging capabilities including digital radiology, ultrasound, CT, and MRI. The facility features a Critical Care Unit, endoscopy, and a USP 800 compliant chemotherapy hood. It is AAHA accredited and offers emergency, critical, and urgent care for dogs and cats, as well as internal medicine, oncology, and surgery services. Additional departments include Diagnostic Imaging, Interventional Radiology, Anesthesiology, Counseling, and other specialty services.

Team
The hospital employs 14 DVMs and 56 support staff, including 25 RVTs.

Candidate Requirements 

• Must hold the relevant degree(s) and additional qualifications to work as a veterinarian in the United States of America (USA)
• Must hold, be in the process of, or be able to obtain, a state license for the state they are applying to work in
• Must have the right to work in the United States of America (USA), or be able to obtain the required visa to do so
