Job Description
Introduction
Our client is a specialty and emergency hospital seeking a Board-Certified or Residency-Trained Internist to join their 24-hour referral and emergency team in Lexington, Kentucky. This hospital is dedicated to high-quality, advanced medicine and provides care exclusively for cats and dogs.
Working Hours / Rota
The hospital operates 24/7, offering emergency coverage at all times. After-hours cases are managed by a dedicated emergency team, allowing specialists to focus on daytime schedules. Full-time positions are available, with relocation reimbursement or a travel stipend offered for non-local candidates.
Role Description and Responsibilities
This role involves managing a diverse internal medicine caseload using advanced diagnostic and therapeutic tools, with support from an exceptional internal medicine team and emergency clinicians. The position is suited for board-certified or residency-trained candidates with experience, offering the opportunity to contribute expertise in a collaborative, multi-specialty environment.
Practice Details
The hospital is equipped with digital radiography, ultrasound, cystoscopy, CT scans, fluoroscopy, 3D HD imaging, and both flexible and rigid endoscopy. Additional capabilities include laparoscopy, interventional radiology, and hyperbaric oxygen therapy. The facility supports a broad range of services including internal medicine, surgery, cardiology, and oncology, and fosters a culture of individualized, high-level care.
Team
The team includes nine DVMs across multiple specialties, with strong collaboration between departments. The internal medicine department is supported by experienced technicians and an emergency team that provides after-hours coverage, ensuring a smooth and efficient work environment for specialists.
Candidate Requirements
- Must hold the relevant degree(s) and additional qualifications to work as a veterinarian in the United States of America (USA)
- Must hold, be in the process of, or be able to obtain, a state license for the state they are applying to work in
- Must have the right to work in the United States of America (USA), or be able to obtain the required visa to do so
