Introduction
Our client is a hospital seeking a full-time Veterinary Internist to join their small animal specialty team. This role offers the opportunity to manage a steady and diverse caseload of internal medicine referrals while helping to shape and grow the internal medicine service within a thriving hospital.

Working Hours / Rota
This is a full-time Monday to Friday position. The hospital is open Monday through Thursday from 8:00am to 6:00pm and Friday from 8:00am to 5:00pm.

Role Description and Responsibilities
The Veterinary Internist will manage a steady and diverse caseload of internal medicine referrals within a specialty hospital setting. Responsibilities include performing comprehensive consultations, developing detailed diagnostic and treatment plans, interpreting advanced imaging and laboratory results, and performing specialized procedures such as endoscopy, ultrasound-guided aspirates, and other minimally invasive diagnostics. The role involves collaborating closely with emergency clinicians, surgeons, criticalists, and other specialties to deliver coordinated and comprehensive patient care. The Veterinary Internist communicates clearly and compassionately with clients regarding diagnoses, treatment options, and long-term management plans, maintains thorough and accurate medical records, and upholds the highest standards of evidence-based medicine and clinical excellence. This position is suited to an experienced veterinarian.

Practice Details
The hospital provides access to a fully equipped facility with advanced diagnostics including digital radiology with dental capabilities, ultrasound, CT, flexible and rigid endoscopy, and an in-house laboratory. Specialty services include ophthalmology, oncology, internal medicine, cardiology, surgery, and radiology. The facility benefits from an experienced nursing staff and close collaboration with specialists in oncology, cardiology, radiology, and surgery, supported by well-established trust with local general practitioners and specialists.

Team
The team consists of six DVMs supported by highly trained nurses and specialists who value collaboration and compassionate care, fostering a professional and supportive working environment.

Candidate Requirements 

• Must hold the relevant degree(s) and additional qualifications to work as a veterinarian in the United States of America (USA)
• Must hold, be in the process of, or be able to obtain, a state license for the state they are applying to work in
• Must have the right to work in the United States of America (USA), or be able to obtain the required visa to do so
