Introduction
Our client is a hospital in Crystal Lake, Illinois, seeking a Board-Certified Internist or residency-trained Internist to join their team. This specialty and emergency facility provides care exclusively to companion animals and is the only 24/7 referral hospital in the greater McHenry County region. The position offers a dynamic opportunity for an internal medicine specialist to join a collaborative, high-quality team, with additional leadership opportunities available for interested candidates.

Working Hours / Rota
The hospital operates 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

Role Description and Responsibilities
The role focuses on internal medicine for both inpatients and outpatients, handling complex, chronic, and difficult cases in a multidisciplinary environment. The successful candidate will work alongside emergency, surgical, and integrative medicine teams to deliver coordinated, comprehensive care. The position is open to board-certified internists or residency-trained professionals. Those with leadership aspirations are encouraged to inquire about a Specialty Medical Director role at the hospital.

Practice Details
The hospital is equipped with digital radiography, ultrasound, endoscopy, ECG/EKG, cold laser, and on-site CT imaging. An in-house lab enables advanced diagnostics including rhinoscopy, bone marrow biopsy, joint taps, GI endoscopy, and more. Services offered include emergency care, internal medicine, surgery, rehabilitation, hydrotherapy, and complementary integrative therapies. The caseload is diverse, supported by a modern infrastructure and a commitment to rapid, accurate diagnostics.

Team
The team consists of 8 DVMs, including an internal medicine specialist. The environment is collaborative and designed to support a high level of professional expertise and interdepartmental cooperation.

Candidate Requirements 

• Must hold the relevant degree(s) and additional qualifications to work as a veterinarian in the United States of America (USA)
• Must hold, be in the process of, or be able to obtain, a state license for the state they are applying to work in
• Must have the right to work in the United States of America (USA), or be able to obtain the required visa to do so
