Introduction
Our client is a hospital seeking a Veterinary Internist to join their team. This opportunity is open to both full-time and part-time candidates and involves working with cats and dogs in a 24-hour emergency and specialty setting, delivering advanced internal medicine within a collaborative multidisciplinary environment.
Role Description and Responsibilities
The role focuses on the diagnosis, treatment, and long-term management of complex internal medicine cases, working closely with the hospital’s emergency and specialty teams to provide comprehensive patient care. Responsibilities include performing advanced diagnostics, developing individualized treatment plans, managing referred medical cases, interpreting diagnostic findings, collaborating on multidisciplinary case management, and maintaining clear communication with clients and referring veterinarians. The position is suited to an experienced, board-certified or residency-trained Veterinary Internist who thrives in a fast-paced referral environment and values collaboration and high clinical standards.
Practice Details
The hospital is a 24-hour emergency and specialty facility equipped with advanced technology including continuous ECG monitoring, full laboratory capabilities, ultrasound, CT, MRI, endoscopy, laparoscopy, and digital radiography. Services include emergency and critical care, internal medicine, surgery, neurology, and ophthalmology, providing a varied and complex referral caseload. The facility also supports advanced patient monitoring and treatment with cardiac output monitoring, direct blood pressure monitoring, mechanical ventilation, oxygen therapy, pulse oximetry, capnography, and transfusion therapy. The hospital is AAHA-accredited, reflecting high standards of veterinary care and clinical excellence.
Team
The team consists of 8 DVMs supported by a tenured and experienced support staff, creating a collaborative, specialist-driven environment with strong clinical support.
Candidate Requirements
- Must hold the relevant degree(s) and additional qualifications to work as a veterinarian in the United States of America (USA)
- Must hold, be in the process of, or be able to obtain, a state license for the state they are applying to work in
- Must have the right to work in the United States of America (USA), or be able to obtain the required visa to do so
