Job Description
Introduction
Our client is a specialty and emergency hospital in Chattanooga, Tennessee, seeking a board-certified or residency-trained Veterinary Internist to join their established and growing team. This is an excellent opportunity to lead and expand the internal medicine service within a state-of-the-art facility.
Working Hours / Rota
The hospital operates 24/7, providing comprehensive specialty and emergency care. The internal medicine role offers flexible scheduling tailored to the candidate’s preferences, with no after-hours or on-call responsibilities, ensuring strong work-life balance.
Role Description and Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be responsible for managing a wide variety of internal medicine cases, performing their own ultrasounds, developing treatment plans, and collaborating with other specialists. The role involves autonomy in clinical decision-making while being supported by a multidisciplinary team. This position is suited for board-certified or residency-trained veterinarians who are highly organized, passionate about internal medicine, and dedicated to delivering exceptional patient care.
Practice Details
The hospital spans 6,180 square feet and is equipped with advanced diagnostic and surgical technology, including an on-site CT scanner, digital radiography, ultrasound, endoscopy, and fully equipped surgical suites. Specialized tools such as Snyder oxygen cages, transfusion services, LigaSure, and advanced surgical sealants are available. The facility also offers 24/7 patient monitoring, chemotherapy, immunotherapy, and an isolation ward for infectious disease care. A collaborative, team-focused culture is central to the practice, with a strong emphasis on client communication and high-quality medicine.
Team
The internist will join a highly skilled team of board-certified specialists in surgery and oncology, along with a dedicated emergency team. The hospital is supported by experienced Licensed Veterinary Technicians and support staff who create a collaborative and professional environment.
Candidate Requirements
- Must hold the relevant degree(s) and additional qualifications to work as a veterinarian in the United States of America (USA)
- Must hold, be in the process of, or be able to obtain, a state license for the state they are applying to work in
- Must have the right to work in the United States of America (USA), or be able to obtain the required visa to do so
