Introduction
Our client is a hospital providing advanced specialty and emergency veterinary care and is seeking a Veterinary Internist to join their collaborative team in Charlotte, North Carolina. This is an opportunity to work within a multidisciplinary referral environment alongside specialists, delivering high-level care to complex cases.

Working Hours / Rota
The hospital operates 24/7 for emergency and critical care services, supporting cases at all times including nights, weekends, and holidays. Referral services are supported within this structure. The role offers full-time or part-time flexibility.

Role Description and Responsibilities
The Veterinary Internist will be responsible for managing complex referral cases, performing thorough diagnostics, and developing comprehensive treatment plans for patients with conditions affecting the immune, gastrointestinal, cardiovascular, urinary, endocrine, and pulmonary systems. Responsibilities include collaborating closely with specialists in surgery, oncology, neurology, cardiology, and emergency medicine to deliver multidisciplinary care, as well as working alongside primary care veterinarians to support referred cases. The role is suited to an experienced, board-certified or residency-trained veterinarian, with a focus on advanced internal medicine and clinical excellence.

This is a specialty and emergency referral hospital offering advanced veterinary services supported by a strong collaborative culture. The facility is equipped with cutting-edge technology, including Snyder intensive care units, an in-house laboratory (Heska, IDEXX, e-POC, coagulation testing), SurgiVet multi-parameter monitoring systems, three high-resolution ultrasound machines with ER FAST capability, digital radiography, a 128-slice CT scanner, and a full endoscopy suite with fiberoptic otic and bronchoscopy. The hospital provides 24-hour care and hospitalization within a modern, state-of-the-art facility. Services include internal medicine, surgery, oncology, neurology, cardiology, critical care, emergency medicine, and comprehensive diagnostic and treatment planning for complex cases. The practice emphasizes collaboration, innovation, and clinical autonomy, with strong infrastructure and support systems in place.

Team
The team consists of 8 DVMs supported by a great tenured support staff, fostering a highly collaborative, specialist-driven environment.

Candidate Requirements 

• Must hold the relevant degree(s) and additional qualifications to work as a veterinarian in the United States of America (USA)
• Must hold, be in the process of, or be able to obtain, a state license for the state they are applying to work in
• Must have the right to work in the United States of America (USA), or be able to obtain the required visa to do so
