Introduction
Our client is a hospital seeking a Veterinary Internist to join its specialty and emergency team. The practice is a 24-hour specialty and emergency hospital providing advanced veterinary care to small animal patients and is hiring an experienced Internal Medicine Specialist to support a complex referral caseload and contribute to clinical leadership within the hospital.

Working Hours / Rota
This is a full-time position within a 24-hour specialty and emergency hospital setting. The hospital operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year. Specific doctor hours are not required, but the role is structured to support continuous specialty and emergency coverage.

Role Description and Responsibilities
The Veterinary Internist will focus on advanced internal medicine cases, delivering comprehensive patient exams, diagnostics, and medical work-ups for complex conditions. Clinical responsibilities include diagnosing and treating diseases of the endocrine, immune, pulmonary, gastrointestinal, urinary, and cardiovascular systems, performing procedures such as endoscopy, bronchoscopy, and colonoscopy, managing hospitalized cases, participating in daily rounds when possible, and maintaining accurate medical records.

Practice Details
The hospital is a well-established specialty and emergency referral center serving the Bohemia area of Long Island, New York. It is equipped with state-of-the-art diagnostic and treatment technology, including ultrasound, in-house laboratories, MRI, CT scanning, fluoroscopy, and a fully equipped rehabilitation department. Services offered span multiple specialties, including internal medicine, cardiology, surgery, neurology, dermatology, and interventional radiology. The practice culture is collaborative, dynamic, and focused on delivering the highest standard of compassionate specialty care.

Team
The team consists of sixteen DVMs supported by a large and highly skilled support staff. The hospital environment is collaborative and multidisciplinary, with board-certified specialists and a dedicated emergency team working together to provide continuous, high-quality patient care.

Candidate Requirements 

• Must hold the relevant degree(s) and additional qualifications to work as a veterinarian in the United States of America (USA)
• Must hold, be in the process of, or be able to obtain, a state license for the state they are applying to work in
• Must have the right to work in the United States of America (USA), or be able to obtain the required visa to do so
