Introduction
Our client is a 24-hour, multi-specialty, emergency and primary care hospital seeking a Veterinary Internist to join their growing team. The hospital provides comprehensive small animal care and is looking to expand its internal medicine service within a well-established specialty environment.
Working Hours / Rota
The hospital operates 24/7, with specialty appointments scheduled Monday through Friday from 9am to 5pm. Doctor hours are open to discussion, and the position can be offered on either a full-time or part-time basis, providing flexibility depending on the candidate’s preferences and availability.
Role Description and Responsibilities
The Veterinary Internist will be responsible for delivering the full scope of veterinary internal medicine services to small animal patients. This role requires a board-certified or residency-trained internist who is confident managing complex medical cases within a specialty setting. The position focuses entirely on internal medicine, working alongside other specialty departments to provide comprehensive patient care.
Practice Details
The hospital operates from a brand new 28,000 square foot facility opened in 2024. The building includes 21 exam rooms, a Critical Care Unit, six operating suites, a dental suite, an endoscopy and procedure room, a dedicated space for I-131, and a USP 800 compliant chemotherapy suite. The practice is AAHA accredited and offers 24-hour multi-specialty, emergency and primary care services including critical care, surgery, internal medicine, radiology, cardiology, medical oncology, and ophthalmology. The hospital is equipped with hands-free digital radiology, CT, MRI, and a Halcyon Linear Accelerator, along with additional advanced diagnostic and treatment technology.
Team
The hospital has a huge team of doctors across multiple departments, supported by a well-trained support staff. The environment is collaborative, with dedicated technicians assigned to each service to ensure comprehensive patient and client care.
Candidate Requirements
- Must hold the relevant degree(s) and additional qualifications to work as a veterinarian in the United States of America (USA)
- Must hold, be in the process of, or be able to obtain, a state license for the state they are applying to work in
- Must have the right to work in the United States of America (USA), or be able to obtain the required visa to do so
