Introduction
Our client is a hospital seeking a Veterinary Emergency Hospitalist to join its growing small animal emergency and multispecialty team. This full-time or part-time opportunity is ideal for an experienced veterinarian who enjoys managing complex inpatient cases, collaborating with specialists, and contributing to a high-performing emergency service within a busy referral environment.

Role Description and Responsibilities
As a Veterinary Emergency Hospitalist, you will oversee hospitalized patients and manage cases transitioning from emergency and specialty departments. Responsibilities include providing inpatient care, communicating with clients and referral partners regarding patient progress, supporting the emergency service with appointments when appropriate, and collaborating with hospital leadership to enhance clinical workflows and standard operating procedures. The role also involves contributing to the education and development of clinical team members while serving as a role model for teamwork, leadership, and compassionate patient care. This position is best suited to an experienced veterinarian with internship training and/or experience in a primary emergency or emergency/specialty hospital setting.

Practice Details
This AAHA-accredited emergency and specialty hospital provides 24/7 emergency services and cares for more than 15,000 patients annually. The hospital offers a broad range of specialty services including internal medicine, medical oncology, ophthalmology, radiology, rehabilitation, surgery, cardiology, critical care, dentistry and oral surgery, dermatology, emergency medicine, integrative medicine, interventional radiology, neurology and neurosurgery, radiation oncology, social work, sports medicine, and urgent care. The state-of-the-art facility is equipped with advanced technology and resources, supporting a collaborative, family-oriented culture where clinicians work alongside specialists across multiple disciplines. Hospital services operate 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

Team
The hospital is supported by a team of 24 DVMs and a great tenured support team. The environment is highly collaborative, with veterinarians working closely alongside specialists, emergency clinicians, and experienced clinical staff to deliver exceptional patient care while supporting ongoing professional development.

Candidate Requirements 

• Must hold the relevant degree(s) and additional qualifications to work as a veterinarian in the United States of America (USA)
• Must hold, be in the process of, or be able to obtain, a state license for the state they are applying to work in
• Must have the right to work in the United States of America (USA), or be able to obtain the required visa to do so
