Job Description
Introduction
Our client is a specialty and emergency hospital seeking a board-certified or board-eligible Veterinary Dermatologist to help launch their dermatology service line. This growing, forward-thinking practice in the metro Atlanta area offers a unique chance to help shape a new dermatology department as part of an upcoming state-of-the-art 20,000+ sq ft facility opening in Dunwoody, Georgia in 2026.
Working Hours / Rota
This is a full-time position with flexible scheduling tailored to support both patient care and work-life balance. Dermatological services will be integrated into daytime clinical operations, supported by the ER and specialty team. The position includes no non-compete clause and prioritizes autonomy with no fixed on-call expectations.
Role Description and Responsibilities
The Veterinary Dermatologist will play a foundational role in establishing the dermatology department designing protocols, selecting diagnostic tools, and building the clinical team. Responsibilities include managing complex skin and ear conditions, collaborating with internal medicine and emergency clinicians, and contributing to a multi-specialty environment committed to innovation, mentorship, and compassionate care. This position welcomes both experienced specialists and board-eligible candidates ready to lead.
Practice Details
The hospital is fully equipped with cutting-edge diagnostic and surgical tools and has a culture rooted in collaborative, multi-specialty practice. Facilities will include not only dermatology-specific suites and equipment (to be determined with your input), but also comprehensive imaging, ICU, and surgical support. The hospital is veterinarian-owned and led, offering equity opportunities for long-term contributors.
Team
You’ll collaborate closely with a robust team including five board-certified criticalists, two surgeons, an anesthesiologist and resident, internal medicine specialists, and seven emergency veterinarians. This team-based model supports shared rounds, seamless case handoffs, and top-tier medical care across disciplines.
Candidate Requirements
- Must hold the relevant degree(s) and additional qualifications to work as a veterinarian in the United States of America (USA)
- Must hold, be in the process of, or be able to obtain, a state license for the state they are applying to work in
- Must have the right to work in the United States of America (USA), or be able to obtain the required visa to do so
