Job Description

Introduction
A privately owned small animal specialty hospital in Scottsdale, Arizona is seeking a board-certified or residency-trained Veterinary Dermatologist to join its growing, multi-disciplinary team. This is an exceptional opportunity to establish and develop a dermatology service within a hospital that values independence, collaboration, and excellence in patient care. The practice is expanding into a brand new, state-of-the-art facility equipped to support advanced diagnostics and treatment in a welcoming and progressive environment. With a strong existing internal medicine caseload and a loyal referral base across the region, this position offers the chance to practice at the highest level of medicine while enjoying true professional autonomy and work life balance.

Working Hours / Rota
The position is full time, based on a four day workweek, with the option of a three day schedule for experienced candidates. There are no on call, weekend, or overnight responsibilities. Appointment lengths are designed for quality medicine and client education, with flexibility to structure your schedule and caseload according to your preferred style of practice.

Role Description and Responsibilities
The successful candidate will lead and grow the hospital’s dermatology service, providing expert diagnosis and treatment for allergic, infectious, parasitic, and autoimmune skin diseases, as well as chronic otitis and other dermatologic conditions. You will collaborate closely with colleagues in internal medicine, surgery, cardiology, and oncology to provide comprehensive, integrated patient care. This is an exciting opportunity for a dermatologist who enjoys both clinical work and team collaboration, supported by advanced technology and an experienced technical staff. You will have the freedom to shape your department, influence protocols, and contribute to the continued advancement of specialty medicine in a thriving, supportive environment.

Practice Details
The hospital specializes in small animal internal medicine, cardiology, oncology, dermatology, and advanced surgical care for dogs and cats. The practice also supports an internal medicine residency program and maintains an exceptional reputation for managing complex medical cases. Its new purpose-built facility includes CT imaging, fluoroscopy, digital radiography, endoscopy and laparoscopy towers, two ultrasound machines, a Holmium laser for minimally invasive procedures, and fully equipped surgical and treatment suites. The new hospital space will further enhance the dermatology department’s capacity for diagnostic testing, allergy management, and advanced treatment, ensuring the tools and environment needed for truly comprehensive dermatologic care.

Team
You will join a talented and supportive team currently comprised of two internists, one internal medicine resident, eight technicians, and seven additional support staff, all committed to a culture of collaboration, respect, and clinical excellence. The hospital’s privately owned structure allows for open communication, flexibility, and a genuine focus on patient outcomes rather than corporate targets. This is a rare opportunity to build and lead a dermatology service within a specialty hospital that truly values your expertise, individuality, and long-term professional growth.
