Job Description
Introduction
Our client is a specialty and emergency hospital seeking a Veterinary Criticalist to join their team. The hospital provides care for dogs and cats and is open to both full-time and part-time applicants.
Role Description and Responsibilities
The Veterinary Criticalist will focus on managing complex emergency and critical care cases, providing advanced monitoring, stabilization, and treatment for critically ill patients. Responsibilities include delivering intensive care such as mechanical ventilation, transfusion therapy, advanced analgesia, and continuous patient monitoring, while collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to ensure the highest standards of care. The role is suited to an experienced, board-certified or residency-trained veterinarian.
Practice Details
This is a 24/7 emergency and specialty hospital spanning 11,000 sq. ft., offering services in internal medicine, emergency and critical care, and surgery. The facility is equipped with advanced technology including digital radiology, 64-slice helical CT, fluoroscopy, ultrasound, endoscopy, and comprehensive in-house laboratory capabilities such as co-oximetry, blood gas analysis, CBC, coagulation, and chemistry profiles. The hospital supports advanced intensive care capabilities including mechanical ventilation, oxygen therapy, transfusion therapy, and continuous monitoring systems such as telemetry, pulse oximetry, capnography, and blood pressure monitoring. The practice emphasizes a collaborative environment with access to a wide network of specialists and a high caseload of referral and emergency cases.
Team
The team consists of 12 DVMs supported by a tenured and collaborative group of veterinary professionals, working together across specialties to deliver advanced patient care.
Candidate Requirements
- Must hold the relevant degree(s) and additional qualifications to work as a veterinarian in the United States of America (USA)
- Must hold, be in the process of, or be able to obtain, a state license for the state they are applying to work in
- Must have the right to work in the United States of America (USA), or be able to obtain the required visa to do so
