Job Description

Introduction
Our client is a hospital seeking a Veterinary Criticalist to join their 24/7 emergency and specialty center in Murrieta. The position is designed for a board-certified or residency-trained Criticalist who will contribute to a high-level referral environment supported by advanced technology, multiple specialty services, and a collaborative team-based approach.

Working Hours / Rota
The hospital provides 24/7 emergency veterinary care, available day and night, seven days a week. Specialty services are offered by appointment. Full-time or part-time availability is offered.

Role Description and Responsibilities
The Veterinary Criticalist will work within a specialty service that includes internal medicine, surgery, cardiology, dentistry, dermatology, diagnostic imaging, emergency and critical care, and oncology support. Responsibilities involve providing advanced critical care within a facility equipped with a CT scanner, diagnostic laboratory, ultrasonography, echocardiography, digital radiology, endoscopy, and a blood product donor program. The role includes participating in a well-established rotating internship program and collaborating in oncology rounds. This position is open to board-certified or residency-trained clinicians.

Practice Details

The hospital is a 12,000 square foot 24/7 emergency and specialty facility equipped with a CT scanner, diagnostic laboratory, ultrasonography, echocardiography, digital radiology, endoscopy, and an on-site blood product donor program. Specialty departments include cardiology, diagnostic imaging/radiology, emergency and critical care, internal medicine, surgery, and oncology support. The hospital provides a comprehensive referral caseload and works closely with primary veterinarians to ensure continuity of care. The facility is also supported by a certified veterinary scribe and a Fear Free Certified Professional, and it participates in weekly oncology rounds.

Team
The hospital team includes 22 DVMs supported by 14 assistants/RVTs and an additional 17 support staff. The environment is collaborative, with board-certified specialists, emergency clinicians, oncology support personnel, and administrative staff working together to provide advanced and continuous care.

Candidate Requirements 

• Must hold the relevant degree(s) and additional qualifications to work as a veterinarian in the United States of America (USA)
• Must hold, be in the process of, or be able to obtain, a state license for the state they are applying to work in
• Must have the right to work in the United States of America (USA), or be able to obtain the required visa to do so
